I think that in NAND_AUTO mode program uses x8 settings, however it is x16 chip and settings must be different.

Quote from datasheet:
• Organization
– Page size x8: 2112 bytes (2048 + 64 bytes)
– Page size x16: 1056 words (1024 + 32 words)
– Block size: 64 pages (128K + 4K bytes)
– Plane size: 2 planes x 1024 blocks per plane
– Device size: 2Gb: 2048 blocks

Settings from log file:
031:  Chip pins contact is detected OK.
032:  TotalPageNum: 0x100,PageNumInBlock: 64,PageSize: 2112
033:  MICRON, MT29F2G16ABAEAWP
034:  MICRON, ID: 0x2CCA90D506000000, 3.3V, CE:1, 16bit, Col: 2, Row: 3, SLC.
035:  PageSize:2048B, OobSize:64B, BlockSize:128KB, ChipSize:264MB.
